These are
my two sweetie-pie kitty cats. Just because they are furless
does not make them any less “cat”. Actually, they
seem to be more dog than cat. Never aloof or shy or blasé
about my presence, they are constantly entertaining everyone
with their lovey-ness, their jumping all over, their teasing
of the dog, and their general “look at me NOW!!”
attitude. Seriously, if you’re in the market for a cat
that sits quietly in another room when company is over, keep
looking! The Sphynx is not for you!
This
is my stud, Alopecia Spencer Tracy of LND. He’s
a gorgeous crème with gold eyes. Just the tiniest
bit of fur on his face. He’s got both colourpoint
and odd-eyes in his Pedigree. He is registered with
TICA and CFA and I plan to show him this coming year.
This
is my Queen, Nofurkiti Candi Kisses of LND. She’s
a sweet itty bitty fuzzy calico with amazing green/gold
eyes. She’s definitely demure and an absolute
love. A little shy at first, she just can’t help
from coming out to meet whoever comes into the house.
She is registered currently with TICA, and I plan on
registering her with CFA as well.
Yes, she’s a bit on the fuzzy side for a Sphynx. But
fear not! If you’re looking for a pet only, and not
interested in showing, there are advantages to having a slightly
furry kitty
Lower Maintenance- While Spencer gets a weekly
bath and a daily wipedown, Candi only needs a bath every two
or three weeks. Her ears and eyes stay much cleaner much longer.
Shedding- Even though they have some fur,
they still don’t have enough to actually shed and get
on your furniture, produce hairballs, or detract from the
cat’s overall look.
Feel- OH MY GOODNESS! They feel so
great. You just want to pet and kiss a fuzzy Sphynx all day
long. Not that I don’t like loving on Spencer; he feels
like a sticky peach. Candi feels like a warm silk bag or a
Cashmere sweater. You just can’t believe how soft and
gorgeous it is!
